Custom email reports
the brief
One of Europe’s largest renewable energy companies has grown considerably in recent years, and is still growing. As the business grows, so too does the need for streamlined but accurate reporting of its marketing activities. The problem was that it has great data that useful to wider teams, however people are time poor and the appetite for large PDFs full of numbers is no longer working for them. How can they communicate success to the business if no one is opening their reports. They needed a solution.
the solution
PDF reports have a strong place in the marketing mix of internal communications, however they have become stale in recent years due to an over reliance of templates and data that people have seen too often. How do you get teams to read the data without increasing the actions they must take to do so? By making it as visible as possible.
Out of a need for increased visibility of data and making it as easy as possible for people to read, the idea was to create a report that sits entirely within email, is optimised for mobile so it can be read on-the-go, and gives people the core data they need to know, with the option to read more if they choose to do so.
The design itself is built in a modular design, with each core component acting as a separate image that stitches together with others in a transparent table in Outlook. The modular approach allows individual links to be placed throughout the report, sign posted by clear CTAs.
