flick solitaire

the brief

When Ian from Flick Solitaire came to me asking if would consider creating a pixel deck of cards for his game, I wouldn’t be exaggerating to say that one of my dreams came true. I’m a huge fan of the game, and the opportunity to inject some of the nostalgia of pixel art into Ian’s modern take on the classic was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

the idea

When first brainstorming ideas on how the cards could look, my main consideration was wanting to keep the classic feel of royalty so synonymous with cards, but inject with a more playful sense of humour that is so recognisable from the best pixel art games. After various iterations and ideas were worked on with the Flick Solitaire team, Regal Rascals was born.
